What causes skin laxity
Collagen and elastin changes contribute to loose or crepey skin. Changes in facial fat, bone and supporting tissues also affect the jawline and neck, so not every sagging concern is a skin-surface problem.
As those proteins break down, gravity takes over: jowls form along the jawline, skin loosens under the neck, and texture turns crepey. Creams can’t reach deep enough to rebuild that lost scaffolding.
RF microneedling delivers heat through needles; biostimulators are injectable products. They act differently and may improve selected aspects of skin quality or firmness. Neither removes excess skin or guarantees a lift. Plasma treatment needs separate device-specific safety and suitability assessment.
