Sun Damage
Treatments
We use advanced phototherapy and fractional lasers to safely lift trapped pigment, eliminate broken capillaries, and rebuild sun-depleted collagen across the face, chest, and hands.
How Sun Damage Treatment Works
Prolonged UV exposure doesn't just cause freckles — it fundamentally alters your skin's DNA. UV rays destroy collagen and elastin fibers, leading to a rough, leathery texture and premature wrinkles (solar elastosis).
Simultaneously, your melanocytes overproduce pigment to defend the skin, creating stubborn dark spots, while UV-induced inflammation leads to broken capillaries and chronic redness across the chest and face.
Reversing this requires a multi-layered approach. We use Intense Pulsed Light (BBL) to shatter trapped pigment and coagulate vessels, paired with fractionated lasers (like MOXI) to rebuild the compromised collagen framework.
Clinical Pathways
Sun damage affects both tone and texture, so true reversal requires a layered approach. We evaluate your photoaging and build a customized restoration regimen. Your provider will recommend the right option.
BBL® Hero
The gold standard for clearing sun damage. BroadBand Light specifically targets both brown melanin (sun spots) and red hemoglobin (broken capillaries), pulling years of damage to the surface to flake away.
MOXI Laser
A fractionated laser that physically resurfaces the skin. It polishes away the dull, rough, leathery texture caused by UV exposure, stimulating fresh collagen for a smoother, more even surface.
Chemical Peels
Medical-grade resurfacing peels dissolve the top layers of dead, sun-damaged skin cells, rapidly lifting dense pigmentation and fine lines.
RF Microneedling
Because the sun destroys elastin, skin begins to sag prematurely. Vivace drives radiofrequency heat deep into the dermis to contract the tissue and rebuild the lost structural framework.
Dermaplaning
Sun damage causes a thick buildup of dead skin cells (stratum corneum). Surgical scalpel exfoliation strips away this dead barrier, allowing brightening serums and lasers to penetrate much deeper.
Medical Skincare
Treatments mean nothing if you return to the sun unprotected. We prescribe medical-grade defense systems (including pure Vitamin C and broad-spectrum SPF) from ZO Skin Health to maintain your results long-term.

"I was so regretting the tanning beds from my 20s. My skin felt leathery and dull. Jaycee customized a MOXI laser and peel plan for me. The change in my skin's texture has been remarkable."
"The age spots on my hands and chest were really starting to bother me. I didn't know you could laser them off. One BBL session with Christian and I have a totally clean slate. Highly recommend."
"Lauren did a package of Vivace RF Microneedling to fix the sun-induced crepey skin on my neck. The tightening effect is clear. It rebuilt the collagen that I thought was permanently gone."

Questions
What to know before booking sun damage treatment at ELLEMES.
Visually, yes. The visible signs of sun damage (freckles, age spots, and dull texture) can be effectively removed using phototherapy and lasers. However, your skin maintains a "memory." If you go back in the sun unprotected, the body will immediately produce new pigment to defend itself.
BBL is a light-based therapy that primarily fixes color (pulling up brown spots and eliminating redness). MOXI is a fractionated laser that primarily fixes texture (smoothing leathery skin and fine lines). For a total photoaging reset, we recommend stacking both treatments in the same session.
Yes. After a BBL session, you will experience "MENDs" (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris). The laser shatters the pigment, causing the spots to darken and look like tiny coffee grounds on the skin. Over the next 5–7 days, these spots will naturally flake off, revealing clear skin.
Yes. The face, neck, décolletage (chest), and hands are the areas most chronically exposed to UV rays. BBL Hero is highly effective at clearing sun damage from all of these areas safely and quickly.
Fall and winter are the best times, often called "Laser Season." Because you cannot have active sun exposure or a tan before or immediately after a laser treatment, it is easiest to reverse summer damage during the colder, darker months.
