Dermal Fillers
& Contouring
Hyaluronic acid–based injectable gels that restore lost facial volume, smooth deep folds, and redefine contours. We use the full Restylane suite and specialize in full-facial balancing for proportional, natural-looking results.
How Dermal Fillers Work
Dermal fillers are FDA-approved injectable gels primarily made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) — a substance naturally present in your skin that binds water and provides structural volume.
As we age, the face loses bone density, fat pad volume, and collagen — resulting in hollow under-eyes, flattened cheeks, and deepening skin folds. We use the Restylane suite of fillers (Kysse, Lyft, Refyne, Defyne, and Contour), each formulated with a different gel density to match specific tissue layers and treatment areas.
Our nurse injector specializes in Full Facial Balancing — strategically placing filler across the lips, cheeks, chin, and jawline to restore proportion and structure without an overfilled appearance.
The Benefits

Volume Restoration
Replenishes lost volume in the cheeks, temples, and tear troughs — areas that hollow with age due to fat pad descent and bone resorption.

Deep Wrinkle Correction
Fills nasolabial folds and marionette lines by adding structural support beneath the skin's surface, softening creases at the point of origin.

Immediate, Lasting Results
Results are visible the same day and typically last 6 to 18 months depending on the product used and the treatment area.
Skin Concerns We Treat
Age-related fat pad descent and bone resorption cause the midface to flatten and the cheeks to appear sunken. Dermal fillers placed along the zygomatic arch and upper cheek restore projection and lift the lower face. For patients also experiencing skin laxity, combining filler with RF microneedling can address both volume and firmness.
Tear trough hollowing creates shadows that make the under-eye area look dark and tired. A small amount of soft HA filler placed beneath the orbicularis muscle smooths the transition between the lower lid and cheek. For pigment-related dark circles, PRF under-eye injections may be a better fit.
Deep creases from nose to mouth (nasolabial folds) and mouth to chin (marionette lines) form as the midface loses structural support. Filler placed at the fold origin and along the cheek lifts tissue from above, reducing crease depth without overfilling the fold itself. See our anti-aging treatment options for a full plan.
Lip filler adds volume, defines the vermilion border, and corrects asymmetry. We use Restylane Kysse — a flexible HA gel designed specifically for the lip — to maintain natural movement and expression. For subtle enhancement without added volume, a lip flip with Botox is also available. Learn more on our dedicated lip filler page.
A recessed chin or undefined jaw can affect facial proportion from both the front and profile views. Filler placed along the mandible and at the chin point creates definition and improves the chin-to-nose ratio. For patients also concerned about submental fullness, combining jawline filler with neuromodulator treatment for the masseter can slim and define the lower face.
Most faces have natural asymmetry — differences in cheek projection, brow height, or jawline contour that become more noticeable with age-related volume loss. Strategic filler placement across multiple zones (a full facial balancing approach) can improve symmetry and overall proportion. View our before and after gallery for examples.
What to Expect
A filler appointment typically takes 45–90 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. Results are visible the same day.
Aftercare Essentials
- Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours
- Skip intense exercise, saunas, and hot yoga for 48 hours post-treatment
- Sleep face-up (on your back) for the first two nights to prevent product displacement
- Apply cold compresses gently if swelling occurs — do not apply ice directly to the skin
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and blood-thinning supplements for 48 hours post-treatment
- Contact the clinic if you experience unusual pain, blanching, or vision changes
Full aftercare details are provided at your appointment. Visit our post-care instructions page for reference.
Treatment Estimates
Pricing is determined by the number of syringes used. Below are average syringe estimates for common treatment areas. Your provider will recommend the right option based on your anatomy and goals.
The estimates above reflect the most common treatment areas. The actual number of syringes varies based on individual anatomy and desired outcome. Schedule a consultation to discuss your goals with our injector.

How Many Sessions & How Often
HA fillers are gradually metabolized by the body over time. Your injector will outline a personalized maintenance schedule based on the products used and the areas treated.
Most patients achieve their desired result in a single session. For areas like lips or nasolabial folds, one appointment with 1–2 syringes is typically sufficient. Your injector may recommend a conservative first session with a follow-up touch-up at 2 weeks.
Comprehensive facial balancing — addressing cheeks, jawline, chin, and lips together — may be completed in one longer session or staged across two appointments spaced 2–4 weeks apart, depending on total volume needed and patient preference.
HA fillers are gradually metabolized by the body. Lips typically require retreatment at 6–9 months; cheeks and jawline last 12–18 months. Maintenance sessions usually require fewer syringes than the initial treatment since residual product remains.
Treatment timelines vary based on the product used, the area treated, and individual metabolism. Your injector will outline a personalized maintenance plan at your consultation. Learn more about our full range of injectable and skin treatments.
Dermal Fillers vs. Botox / Dysport
Fillers and Botox are both injectable treatments, but they address different causes of aging. Understanding the distinction helps determine which treatment — or combination — is right for your concerns.
Fillers address static concerns — volume loss and structural changes that are visible at rest. Botox addresses dynamic concerns — wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement. Many patients benefit from both. Your injector will recommend the right combination at your consultation. Learn more about our Botox and Dysport treatments.

Pairs Well With
Fillers restore structure and volume below the surface. These treatments address skin quality on top for more comprehensive results.

Botox & Dysport
Neuromodulators relax muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (forehead, crow's feet); fillers address static volume loss. Together they treat both causes of facial aging.

BBL Photofacial
Fillers restore volume from the inside; BBL targets pigmentation, redness, and sun damage at the skin's surface — addressing structure and tone simultaneously.

Sciton MOXI™
MOXI laser resurfacing improves texture, tone, and mild scarring on the skin's surface while fillers add structural support underneath — complementary layers of correction.

RF Microneedling
RF Microneedling stimulates collagen remodeling and tightens skin at the dermal level, which helps maintain and extend filler results over time.

Questions
What to know before booking Dermal Fillers at ELLEMES.
Dermal fillers can treat the lips, cheeks, jawline, chin, under-eyes (tear troughs), nasolabial folds, temples, and more. We specialize in Full Facial Balancing to ensure all treated areas maintain natural proportion and symmetry.
It varies by individual anatomy and goals. A common guideline in aesthetics is roughly one syringe per decade of life for full facial correction. Lips may require one syringe, while cheek or jawline work typically requires more. Your injector will create a specific plan at your consultation.
No. Our injector's approach centers on facial balancing and enhancing existing structure. We use advanced placement techniques that prioritize subtle, proportional results — avoiding overfilled outcomes.
We apply a topical numbing cream before injection, and all of our fillers contain lidocaine within the gel. Most patients report minimal discomfort and can resume normal activities immediately. Some minor swelling or bruising may occur and typically resolves within a few days.
Results are visible immediately after treatment. Depending on the product and area treated — lips metabolize filler faster than cheeks — results typically last 6 to 18 months.
Hyaluronic acid–based fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called Hylenex. We routinely perform filler corrections — dissolving old or migrated product before placing new filler with updated technique.
To reduce post-injection bruising, avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment and stop blood thinners (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Fish Oil) for about a week beforehand, if medically safe to do so. Your injector will review all pre-care at your consultation.
