Gummy Smile / Disappearing Upper Lip
If your upper lip curls inward when you smile, a lip flip relaxes the muscle so the lip rolls outward — more visible lip, no added volume. It’s a $150 treatment that takes ten minutes and pairs beautifully with filler for patients who want both show and substance.
Asymmetry
Few lips are naturally symmetric. Micro-droplet filler placement evens out uneven sides, balances the upper-to-lower ratio (a 1:1.6 ratio is the classic starting point), and corrects a crooked or flat Cupid’s bow. Undefined Borders & Lip Lines

Previous Filler Gone Wrong

What to Expect
From numbing to final photos, a lip injection appointment takes 30–45 minutes. Here’s how it runs.
Consultation & Mapping
Your nurse injector assesses your lip anatomy, discusses the look you want (bring reference photos — they help), and recommends filler, flip, or both. You’ll agree on product, amount, and placement before anything is opened.
Numbing
A strong topical numbing cream is applied to the lips and left to take full effect. Most lip fillers also contain lidocaine, so the treatment gets more comfortable as it progresses.
Injection
Using a fine needle or cannula, your injector places filler in micro-amounts, checking symmetry between every few injections and having you smile and talk to confirm natural movement. A lip flip adds 2–4 quick injection points along the upper lip border.
Review & Ice
You’ll see the change immediately — expect it to look slightly fuller than the final result due to swelling. Ice is applied, aftercare is reviewed, and touch-up photos are taken for your record.
Settle & Perfect

Post-Treatment Tips
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and blood thinners (ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil) for 24–48 hours to minimize bruising and swelling. No makeup on the lips for 24 hours, no dental work for 2 weeks, and skip facials or massages that put pressure on the area. Sleep slightly elevated the first night.
