Restylane Silk is a finer-particle option used for lip border definition, fine lip lines, and subtle hydration-focused enhancement. Cheeks & Midface
Restylane Lyft is FDA-approved for midface augmentation and cheek enhancement. It has a higher lifting capacity and structural stiffness suited for deep placement near the bone, making it effective for restoring midface projection and lifting descending soft tissue. Restylane Contour is a newer addition formulated specifically for cheek contouring and definition — it uses OBT technology for a result that flexes naturally with movement while still providing structural lift. Treatment typically requires 1–2 syringes per side, with results lasting 12–18 months.
Under Eyes / Tear Trough
Restylane Eyelight is FDA-approved for infraorbital hollowing and uses NASHA technology. It adds volume to selected under-eye hollows; it does not treat every cause of dark circles or puffiness. Product choice and placement require care, and bruising, swelling, visible irregularity and rare serious complications remain possible.
Nasolabial Folds & Smile Lines
Restylane Defyne and Refyne are OBT-formulated products designed specifically for dynamic facial folds. Refyne is softer and better suited for moderate folds and patients who want a subtle, flexible correction. Defyne is denser and more appropriate for deeper folds requiring more structural support. Both move with facial expressions rather than restricting them. Treatment addresses nasolabial folds (nose to mouth), marionette lines (mouth to chin), and other fold-type concerns. Results typically last 12 months.
Jawline & Chin
Restylane Lyft is commonly used for jawline definition and chin augmentation due to its high lifting capacity and structural stiffness suited for deep subdermal placement. It creates clean definition along the jawline and adds chin projection for improved profile balance. Jawline treatments typically require 2–4 syringes for visible structural results; chin augmentation typically requires 1–2 syringes. For patients also addressing submental fat, jaw filler pairs well with Kybella for a more complete lower face result.
Hands
Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine has an FDA-approved indication for volume loss on the back of the hands. Your provider assesses the amount and expected benefit and discusses swelling, bruising and possible temporary effects on hand function.
Restylane vs. Juvéderm
Restylane and Juvéderm are both FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler collections, and both are offered at ELLEMES. The differences between them are technical — gel consistency, manufacturing process, and how each integrates with tissue — rather than a matter of one being clinically superior. Provider experience with a specific product often matters more than brand alone.

What to Expect
A filler appointment runs 45–60 minutes for a single area, and up to 90 minutes for multi-area or facial balancing sessions. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.
Consultation & Product Selection
Your provider evaluates your anatomy, reviews your goals, and selects the appropriate Restylane product for your area and desired outcome. Product selection is one of the most important decisions in producing a natural-looking result. Before-and-after photos are taken at this stage.
Numbing
Topical numbing cream is applied and allowed to take full effect before injection begins. Most Restylane products contain lidocaine in the formulation, which provides progressive numbing as the injection proceeds. Lips are the most sensitive area and receive the most thorough numbing protocol.
Filler Placement
Filler is placed using a fine needle or blunt-tip cannula depending on the area and provider preference. Your provider works incrementally — adding small amounts, assessing symmetry and volume in real time, and adjusting as they go. You’ll see progress throughout the session and provide feedback before the final result is set.
Post-Injection Assessment
Your provider assesses symmetry and overall result immediately after treatment. Minor in-session refinements are made as needed. Post-treatment photos are taken, aftercare instructions are reviewed, and a 2-week follow-up is scheduled to assess the settled result and address any touch-up needs.
Results & Settling
Volume is visible immediately, but results should not be judged until swelling resolves — typically at 7–14 days. Lips may feel firm and look swollen for 3–7 days before settling into their final shape. Bruising, if present, resolves within 5–7 days. Final results are assessed at your 2-week follow-up.
Post-Treatment Tips
Follow product-specific aftercare and tell your injector about planned dental work, skin treatments and all medicines or supplements. Ask before starting arnica or preventive cold-sore medication. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own. Swelling, bruising, tenderness and lumps can occur. Rare vascular complications can cause skin damage, vision loss or stroke. Seek immediate medical attention for unusual severe pain, white/gray/blue skin, vision changes or stroke symptoms after filler; do not wait for a routine follow-up. Most single-area treatments begin at 1 syringe. Your provider will confirm the recommended starting volume at consultation based on your anatomy and goals.

How Often to Treat
Longevity varies by area, product, and individual metabolism. Your provider will build a realistic maintenance schedule at your 2-week follow-up based on how your result has settled.
Kysse studies have shown lip results lasting up to one year with optimal treatment. Individual duration varies, and a repeat treatment should depend on reassessment rather than automatic top-ups.
Restylane Defyne and Refyne in nasolabial folds, and Lyft in the jawline and chin, typically last 12–18 months. Patients who top off their filler before complete dissolution maintain results with less product over time — making proactive maintenance more cost-effective.
Restylane Lyft and Contour in the midface typically last 12–18 months. Hand filler with Lyft lasts approximately 6–12 months depending on hand activity and individual metabolic rate — hands are an active area and product may break down faster than facial placements.
