Post-Treatment Tips
Sleep slightly elevated the first night and apply cold compresses gently the first day. A half syringe placed conservatively corrects most tear troughs. We deliberately under-fill on day one — the 2-week follow-up is where perfection happens.
The under-eye barely moves, so filler outlasts most other areas. Many patients refresh annually; some stretch to 18 months.
If skin quality is part of the picture, your injector may sequence PRF or EZ Gel sessions between filler refreshes for compounding improvement.
Under-eye work pairs naturally with Botox for crow’s feet and cheek filler — supporting the mid-face often reduces how much product the tear trough itself needs.
How Under-Eye Filler Works
The tear trough is a groove that forms (or deepens) as the fat pads and bone support under the eye recede with age. Light falls into the hollow and casts a shadow — which is why many “dark circles” are really a volume problem, not a pigment problem.
Under-eye filler places a small amount of soft, low-swelling hyaluronic acid gel deep in the trough to restore that lost support. We typically use a blunt-tip cannula entering from a single point lower on the cheek — fewer entry points, dramatically less bruising risk, and safer passage through this delicate area.
A half-syringe ($600) is the standard starting dose. The under-eye is unforgiving of overfilling, so we correct conservatively and refine at your 2-week follow-up — the result should be a rested version of you, not a different you.
