Double Chin / Submental Fullness
Fat under the chin blurs the jaw-to-neck transition, and it is stubbornly resistant to diet and exercise. Kybella is deoxycholic acid — it destroys those fat cells permanently, so they do not return. $600 per session, most patients need 2–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart (package of 2 — $1,100, package of 4 — $2,100). Swelling after treatment is significant and expected.
Recessed or Short Chin
Frequently the real culprit when a jawline “doesn’t work” in profile. A chin that sits behind the lip line shortens the whole jaw and makes the nose read larger. One to two syringes projecting the chin forward — from $750 — is often the highest-impact single change in a profile, and it makes any subsequent jawline filler look better.
Early Jowling & Laxity
When the jawline is blurred by descending tissue rather than missing structure, biostimulators are the better lever: Sculptra ($900/vial) or Radiesse ($850/syringe) rebuild collagen over months. Worth pairing with skin tightening. Honest caveat: with advanced laxity, injectables have a ceiling and a surgical consult is the more truthful recommendation.

Jawline Filler vs. Masseter Botox
The two most-confused jawline treatments. They do opposite things — one adds definition, the other removes width.
Getting this wrong matters: adding filler to a jaw that is already wide from muscle makes the lower face heavier, not sharper. Plenty of patients need both — masseter Botox to narrow the width, then filler to define the line it reveals. That sequencing is exactly what the consultation is for.

Post-Treatment Tips
For filler: avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and blood thinners 24–48 hours; sleep on your back, elevated, for two nights; skip facials, massages, and dental work for two weeks. For masseter Botox: stay upright four hours and avoid rubbing the area. How Many Sessions & How Often
Muscle slimming is assessed 4–8 weeks after treatment. A top-up is sometimes added at that visit if the jaw hasn’t narrowed as much as planned.
The jawline is a low-movement area, so structural filler lasts well. Most patients refresh every 12–18 months, usually with fewer syringes than the original plan.
